Saturday, August 27 United Sportsmen Inc hosted a pig roast for club members.  Dickie Goupell and Pat Smith brought a roaster and camper and spent the night watching over the roasting of a 250 pound pig.

Members and guests shot rounds of trap, skeet and sporting clays in the morning and then enjoyed pork sandwiches and dishes brought by members.

Awards were presented to winners of the summer sporting clays league.  The league started mid May and ran for 10 weeks.  The top three scores were tallied each week, handicapped and then averaged over the 10 weeks.

The top team consisted of Kim Aylworth, Doug Constantini, John Fuse, Ernie Ganz, Norm Lorensen and Tom Schewe.  They edged out the second place team by 8 targets out of a total of 1500 targets scored for each team.  Top individual raw score average for the 10 weeks went to Ernie Ganz with an average of 43.4.  Top one day score of 47 was posted by Jerry Bruns.

The club will be starting a winter 5-stand league starting in January on Saturday mornings.   Details will follow.

Persons wishing to join may call Ted at 906 774 2422 or come to the club any Saturday morning except during the month of November or join on line at www.unitedsportsmeninc.com.
